
Kristen Cabrera, M.Ed., is a School Counselor on the Psychology Team at Mystic Valley Regional Charter School with Domingos & Associates. She holds a Master of Education degree in School Counseling from the University of Maryland and is a DESE-licensed Pre-K–12 School Counselor. Kristen brings experience across elementary and secondary settings, with a strong foundation in providing individual, group, and classroom counseling to support students’ academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth.
Kristen is passionate about working with students navigating anxiety, peer conflict, behavioral challenges, identity development, and school-related stressors. Her background includes direct counseling experience in public schools across MA, MD, and VA, as well as serving in roles that emphasize equity, crisis response, and individualized student support. Kristen's approach is strengths-based and developmentally informed, integrating solution-focused practices, cognitive behavioral strategies, and mindfulness tools to support students and families.
Her work is grounded in a commitment to educational equity and inclusion. She centers student voice and choice, leverages creative expression and sensory-informed tools, and draws from evidence-based SEL practices aligned with the ASCA National Model and MTSS framework. Kristen is especially dedicated to reducing stigma around mental health and ensuring that every student has access to the support they need to thrive in school and beyond.
