Rebecca Francesconi, M.A., is a School Counselor on the Psychology Team at Mystic Valley Regional Charter School with Domingos & Associates. She earned her M.A. in School Counseling/Counseling Psychology at Boston College and is a DESE-licensed PreK-12 School Counselor. Rebecca is deeply committed to serving students impacted by self-esteem difficulties, interpersonal challenges, disruptive behavior, school avoidance, trauma exposure, and family stress. She has a wealth of experience supporting youth impacted by anxiety disorders, depressive symptoms, ADHD, ODD, and SM. Rebecca trained at the Baker Center for Children & Families, Boston Child Study Center, Needham Youth & Family Services, Brookline Public Schools, and Dover-Sherborn Public Schools. Her clinical work spanning therapeutic summer camps, school-based sites, outpatient settings, and community clinics included implementing short-term group counseling which targeted frustration tolerance, social skills, anxiety management, executive functioning, and school transitions.
Rebecca’s comprehensive school counseling programming is strengths-based, centered around the whole child, aligned with the ASCA National Model, and guided by MTSS principles. She integrates a variety of practices in her school-based counseling, including cognitive behavioral theory, motivational interviewing, solution-focused approaches, and mindfulness-based practices. To best meet each student’s needs, Rebecca tailors social emotional supports by emphasizing voice and choice, drawing on artistic expression and movement, and placing sensory strategies and evidence-based SEL curricula at the heart of her work. Her professional core values entail promoting educational equity, deconstructing mental health stigma, and removing barriers to accessing high-quality counseling.
